Job Description:

PURPOSE OF ROLE

•To take ownership and responsibility for management of the Foodservice portfolio to achieve business objectives.

•Working in conjunction with the Retail brand teams to protect and build brand equities consistent with the retail business

•To recommend, develop and execute NPD initiatives to commercial targets.

•To manage and develop all external agency relationships.

•To support and influence the sales Team in the execution of trade plans, including exhibitions and trade advertising.

•To develop appropriate trade and consumer marketing materials and plans within budget.

•To analyse and interpret 3rd party market data where relevant (qualitative and quantitative) and particularly internal sales data to highlight strategies and actions to defend and grow opportunities for the company brand and product portfolio.

•To become the champion for the Foodservice portfolio highlighting opportunities to grow the business and implement activity to achieve business objectives.

•To build and maintain good working relationships with internal customers, external customers, suppliers and our colleagues in international markets.

•To evaluate all activities undertaken to ensure maximum return on investment measured against business objectives.

•To understand all competitor activity and action appropriate responses to develop and protect the portfolio.

•To manage cost control of product commercials and A&P budget.

JOB ROLE

•To develop and manage the Foodservice product ranges.

•Understand current and future consumer dynamics and needs – recommending appropriate brand and product developments to maximise business opportunities.

•Understand foodservice customers and liaise with Sales to maximise marketing activities.

•Development and execution of appropriate consumer advertising and promotion plans and materials within corporate guidelines.

•Development and execution of trade and consumer PR plans and materials (including POS) within corporate guidelines.

•Build effective working relationships with all suppliers, agencies.and the sales team.

•Assist in the recommendation and development of annual and medium term Brand Planning to meet corporate objectives. Manage implementation of Brand Plans to achieve agreed business objectives and within agreed budgets.

•Implement market research (qualitative and quantitative) as appropriate within budget.

•Develop, manage and implement all product change, line extension and NPD projects within agreed timings and budgets, including artwork and design.

•Monitor and communicate performance of the Core Range portfolio on a regular basis using appropriate internal sales and forecast documents and external market research/market data recommending action plans accordingly to maximise business results and meet business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

•Academic – university qualification (relevant degree of benefit)

Skills and experience:

•Commercial role in an FMCG environment (2 years minimum)

•Marketing background within branded environment

•Experience of key elements marketing communications mix (Press, PR, Promotions)

•Comfortable leading external agencies

•Project Management experience

•IT literate – Microsoft Office (particularly Powerpoint and Excel)

•Analytical and data interpretation

•Logical yet creative approach to problem solving

•Strong and confident communicator – written and verbal

•Ability to speak German an advantage but not essential

•Experience of working in the Foodservice sector is an advantage nut not essential
